Psychedelic Squares Afghan

Yarn: Caron Simply Soft. I would like to give it some kind of border to keep the stockinette ends from curling. Thinking about knitting 4 sides of a border on something I did several years ago makes me nauseated so I'm thinking of maybe sewing on a backing that would also be a border? This would also hide the many ends.
